$530,000 For Couple Injured in AYE Reverse-Driving Accident

A Malaysian couple who was traveling on motorcycle on the way to work on the morning of 19 December 2016 suffered serious injuries when a Mercedes-Benz driven by Mr. Lim Chai Heng streaked towards them in the opposite direction. Ms. Choo broke her left leg while her husband, Mr. Teh, sustained fractures in both hands and injuries on three fingers. Lim accepted 100% liability and parties reached a settlement for $380,000 to Mr. Teh and $150,000 to Ms. Choo.

Ms. Choo and Mr. Teh were both represented by Hoh Law Corporation.

In a lawsuit against the driver who had crashed into multiple vehicles while travelling in the opposite direction along AYE, injured victims Teh Tze Yong and wife Janice Choo achieved a settlement on liability in Court. The driver responsible for the accident, Lim Chai Heng, has now accepted 100% liability for the accident, which also resulted in the death of one and injury of another.

The couple, represented by N. Srinivasan from Hoh Law Corporation, sought a combined compensation sum of about $553,000 against Lim. The exact sum of damages awarded will be determined later in Court. (Result in above case summary). A criminal case against Lim for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving is also pending.
