Mr. Neo, a 51 year old lorry driver who became paralysed as a result of a workplace accident has reached a settlement with his employers for a compensation sum of $710,000 in the High Court.
The accident happened on 14 June 2016 when the elevated platform Mr. Neo was walking on collapsed, causing him to fall from a height of 3.5m and sustain severe injuries to his spine and limbs.
Mr. Neo’s lawyers from Hoh Law Corporation, initiated a claim against Mr. Neo’s employers for negligence in ensuring a safe working environment. The compensation sum agreed upon was calculated based on Mr. Neo’s pain and suffering, cost of medical expenses, and loss of income due to the accident.
