Worker struck on head and left wheelchair bound – he gets $700,000

On 20th August 2015, an industrial worker by the name of Chin Swee Leong (“Chin”) was struck on the head by a falling shelving rack at work. The accident, which occurred on Chin’s 49th birthday, fractured Chin’s left skill and vertebra, and left him wheelchair bound and paralysed in his right arm and leg.

In a lawsuit against his employer Mainly Equipment & Trading Pte Ltd and the main contractor Figtree Projects Pte Ltd, the Defendants admitted to 95% liability and agreed to a settlement sum of $700,000. Chin was represented by Ms Belinder Kaur of Hoh Law Corporation.
